The historic heart of the estate is a 16th-century mill, now restored and expanded, which houses a remarkable collection of large oak barrels where one of Italy’s great wine kings, Brunello di Montalcino, is left to mature.
Every estate holds a story. The story of Molino della Suga began more than five centuries ago, within the walls of an ancient 16th-century mill. A place originally built to transform the fruits of the land, which over time has reinvented itself without losing its identity, becoming a space dedicated to the production and ageing of exceptional wines.
Restored with respect and sensitivity, the mill has preserved the charm of its original architecture. Its ancient stone walls tell a story of work, tradition and a deep connection with the land, while its interiors now house large oak barrels in which Brunello di Montalcino embarks on its long journey of maturation. Here, time is not simply a measure, but an essential ingredient, accompanying the wine towards perfect balance.
Surrounding the historic heart of the estate are 36 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with the aim of expressing the different facets of the land. Nine hectares are dedicated to Brunello di Montalcino and four to Rosso di Montalcino, alongside sixteen hectares of Chianti Colli Senesi. The estate’s vineyard heritage is completed by Vermentino, Pinot Grigio and Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon, enriching the production with different interpretations, all united by a pursuit of balance and elegance.
Molino della Suga draws its strength from the continuity between past and present.
