For four generations, we have been producing our wines in some of Tuscany’s most prestigious wine-growing areas
1267, the documented origins.
The family arrived in Tuscany under its ancestor Edgardo Bona, a Genoese nobleman who acquired a castle previously owned by Girolamo Nacchi. This marked the origin of the Bonacchi family name.
1414 , the family’s roots in Tuscany.
The family was granted Florentine citizenship, becoming firmly established within the Tuscan nobility of the time.
19th century, the beginning of our winemaking tradition.
Enrico Bonacchi, great-grandfather of the current owner, began his career as a small-scale wine producer in the hills of Montalbano.
1909, the birth of Pio Bonacchi.
Pio Bonacchi continued to expand the family’s landholdings, acquiring new estates dedicated to vine cultivation.
The 1960s , the company as we know it today.
Giovanni Bonacchi, Pio’s son, acquired Tenuta di Montemagno (today known as Tenuta Bonacchi), establishing the central estate around which the company would grow.
From the 1980s to the present. The fourth generation.
Andrea Bonacchi, the current owner, began the company’s major expansion. In 1999, he acquired Fattoria Casalino, located in the heart of Chianti Classico.
In 2001, the family further expanded its estates with the acquisition of Tenuta Molino della Suga in Montalcino. The most recent addition came in 2022 with the acquisition of Fattoria La Cerretella, located in the prestigious Bolgheri area.
